Uttarakhand
Infrastructure Projects Company Private Limited
(UIPC) is a joint venture company formed by Government
of Uttarakhand (GoU) and Infrastructure Leasing
& Financial Services (IL&FS) wherein both
the promoters hold 50:50 partnerships. UIPC Board
is headed by the Chief Secretary, GoU and there
are 3 board members viz Additional Chief Secretary,
Secretary Power and Secretary Tourism from GoU side
and there are equal numbers of directors from IL&FS
side.
Mission
of UIPC.
• In order to attract private sector investors and
for the project to meet investor requirements, projects
would need to be developed keeping bank ability
as the chief objective. UIPC also aims at creating
an enabling framework for implementing the individual
projects through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP)
mode and with facilitation by the GoU.
• While the initial objectives of the UIPC is the
development of the projects, UIPC may, if required,
also take up the implementation of selected hydropower
projects, projects of tourism importance and any
other infrastructure projects.
• In order to achieve the objectives of overall
development of the State of Uttarakhand, UIPC shall
also review and develop other related projects of
local relevance. UIPC also intents to identify and
develop these projects for subsequent implementation
on PPP framework
